Our new parish priest takes office
Father César Donaire Corchero took office as parish priest at a Mass presided over by the bishop.

On Sunday 22 September 2024, at 12:00, Father César Donaire Corchero took office as the new parish priest of San Sebastián. The ceremony, presided over by the bishop, included a solemn celebration of the Eucharist that marked the beginning of his pastoral ministry in this community.
The rite begins with the entrance procession, led by the bishop with mitre and crozier, together with the new parish priest, deacons and altar servers. After incensing the altar and greeting the faithful, the letter of appointment is read and the parish priest makes the profession of faith and the oath of fidelity, renewing his commitment to the Church and to the community he will lead.
Among the most meaningful moments are the handing over of the keys of the church, a sign of his pastoral authority, and the ringing of the bells with which he calls the faithful to prayer. Accompanied by the bishop, the parish priest also visits the baptistery, the confessional and the altar, where he receives the signs of his new ministry.
